Project Description

DR. SCOTT THORSEN

Dr. Thorsen graduated Cum Laude from the University of Western States and has a bachelor degree in nutrition from Oregon State University.  He has been in practice in Southern Oregon since 1996.  His areas of focus include sport injury rehabilitation, general chiropractic care, nutritional
counseling and wellness care. Dr. Thorsen utilizes an evidence based approach to patient care.  He assesses and treats the underlying cause of a patient’s problem to restore health and improve function.

Prior to finishing his chiropractic studies he received his massage therapy license and worked with the dancers of the Oregon Ballet Theater, helping them recover from their injuries and maximize their physical readiness for performance. He has worked with high school athletic teams, and has
experience as an athletic trainer and sports performance specialist for middle school to college athletes. In 2000, Dr. Thorsen worked side by side with Dr. Jeff Spencer, the chiropractic sports physician to Lance Armstrong and the US Postal Service/Discovery cycling teams. During this three month period, Dr. Thorsen observed and learned Dr. Spencer’s approach to patient care and found it to be
an invaluable experience.

In addition to treating traditional chiropractic conditions, Dr. Thorsen has experience working with many different musculoskeletal conditions, including degenerative arthritis, disc pathologies, strains and sprains, bursitis, tendonitis, headaches, and TMJ dysfunction among others.

“I believe it is vitally important for patients to feel empowered to help themselves. I make every effort to give patients the tools they need to improve their own health. If I do not have the tools to  help someone, I do not hesitate to refer the patient to another health professional in traditional or alternative medicine”
